First of all, pun intended.
This is the biggest news I’ve shared with you all to date and I’m SO PUMPED for what’s in store over these next couple of months! Long story short, I have teamed with up Grant Sabatier, creator of Millennial Money and author of Financial Freedom to promote the launch of his new book and to join him on a 3-month book tour around the country. I will be leaving my corporate job in January 2019 and diving headfirst into the world of entrepreneurship. Wish me luck!

Financial Freedom Book Tour
The Financial Freedom Book becomes publicly available on February 5, 2019 and the book tour spans from March 5th to June 4th. Here’s everything you need to know!
What is Financial Freedom All About?
Grant’s book, Financial Freedom, is a comprehensive guide to achieving financial independence in the quickest and most efficient ways possible. It is the book that you give to someone who’s asking “where do I start?”. Grant covers topics such as expense tracking, money habits, calculating your retirement number, increasing your income, cutting expenses, investing, entrepreneurship, tax optimization, real estate, travel hacking, and so much more in an easy-to-digest, actionable form.
More importantly, though, a common theme throughout the book is that time > money. If you’ve been reading my blog, you know that this concept is extremely important to me. Once you understand how money can buy you hours of freedom, not just material things, your whole financial mindset shifts. Grant really hammers this idea home and illustrates how the financial choices that you make now can impact your hours of freedom in the future.
After all, it’s really the psychology behind money that limits people from achieving financial freedom and retiring early. The math isn’t difficult at all: save as much money as possible, toss it in a Vanguard index fund, and ride out your investment returns for eternity.
Unfortunately, it’s not that easy for most people. But now, with Financial Freedom, people can learn to retrain their minds and dominate their financial future!
Note: If you pre-order the book, you gain access to a bunch of sweet perks and exclusive content!
Financial Freedom Book Tour Agenda
The Financial Freedom book is set to release on February 5, 2019, by publishing company Penguin Random House. Then, almost exactly one month after its launch, on March 4th, Grant and I will hit the road in his refurbished, 1980 Westfalia VW van.
Pretty sweet, right?
Here is a list of the locations and dates we plan to visit (flexible). You can check out everything about the trip at https://financialfreedombook.com/tour !
How to Get Involved
As Tour Manager, I am responsible for promotion and event planning. I am currently planning events at bookstores, libraries, universities, high schools, community centers, you name it – all around the country! Additionally, Grant and I are also coordinating group meetups with like-minded individuals around the country (just like you) to talk about the book and give out free copies.
But, in order for this book tour to truly succeed, we need your help! My knowledge of many regions around the U.S. is limited to what the internet tells me. I don’t have the local expertise, connections, or the capacity to know every single city inside and out. This is where you can help out big time!
If you have a favorite bookstore, university, high school, or library in your area, tell us about it! We’d really appreciate your input so that we can connect with the best venues around the country. Please don’t hesitate to shoot a quick email to cody [at] millennialmoney [dot] com with your ideas.
Also, if you have a FI, FIRE, or personal finance meetup group in your area, we’d love to meet up and chat. Like I mentioned above, our tour schedule is flexible and we’d love nothing more than to meet thousands of like-minded people on this 3-month journey!
Attention Bloggers and Content Creators

Financial Freedom Book Tour Goals
Now you understand how you can help our cause and our mission, but why are we doing this in the first place?
Basic personal finance should be a human right. Every single person deserves to have at least a rudimentary understanding of saving, earning and investing. Since Grant has teamed up with the largest publisher in the world, Penguin Randomhouse, we now have a chance to make this dream a reality.
With the book as a foundation, Grant and I hope to transform thousands of lives during the tour. Seeing us talk, explain, live, and breathe these financial ideas will hopefully leave an indelible mark on our audiences. As co-speakers, we highlight both ends of the financial freedom journey. Grant is living proof that these concepts actually work, and I am the guinea pig at the beginning of the maze.
No matter what happens, this Financial Freedom Book Tour is going to be the experience of a lifetime. And once again, if you’d like to recommend a venue, meetup, or just an idea, don’t hesitate to reach out at cody [at] millennialmoney [dot] com! See you on the tour!

Can’t wait to see you both in Chicago!
See you there, Doc! We’d love to coordinate a meetup or event with you.
Hi Cody-Great to see that you’re planning to come to CT! In New Haven I usually go to Atticus bookstore. There’s also a great independent store in Madison CT called RJ Julia-they have a lot of author events.
Be sure to remind me when you guys are in CT so I can stop by.
Hi Liz,
Thanks a ton for the recommendation. I’ll definitely reach out and try to organize events at those locations! Just made a note to reach out when we are in the area as well.
See you on the tour!
This is awesome!! I’ll likely miss you guys when you’re in San Francisco as I’m flying back from Europe that day. Looking forward to following along the journey though, and will be publishing a review about the book! You guys are going to have an incredible trip.
Thanks Matt! Let me know if if anything changes and we’d love to meet up at a local event. Looking forward to checking out your review and thanks for the good wishes!
HUGE news man! Bummed to not see any dates in Florida, but if that changes and you guys will be anywhere near Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater you should hit me up! There’s a ChooseFI group here and I’d love to help set something up!
Will do man! Yeah not sure why Florida isn’t on there but like the post says… dates and times are flexible 🙂 Maybe we’ll get a chance to catch up and coordinate a meetup.
Ditto this. I’m in Southwest Florida, so the nearest stopnis about 575 miles from me in Atlanta.
Oh wow that’s a haul. We have so many Floridians so maybe we’ll have to build a stop in!
This seems like a great opportunity! Looking forward to reading the book.
Thank you! As you can probably tell, I’m super excited to start this next chapter in my life.
Awesome! Congrats on the new adventure. Just wish you all were stopping through in St. Louis. 😉
Thank you! Hey who knows, our schedule isn’t final yet 🙂
What a schedule. You guys travel considerably faster than us! Sounds awesome, looking forward to meeting up with you guys in Atlanta!
Haha yeah well a book tour has to be a little more fast paced than leisure travel. Will definitely have to catch up on the tour and hear all about your travels!
That’s awesome Cody! In NYC, my favorite bookstore is the Strand. Over in LIC, there is a small independent bookstore called Book Culture I think.
Awesome, thanks so much for the suggestions Olivia I’ll definitley reach out to try to set up events.
Sounds like a blast, man. I hope we can meet up in Mpls in May.
Cheers!
-PoF
Consider it done! We’ll definitely be hosting a big meetup there as well.
That’s awesome! Its fitting you’re coming to my city the week I turn in my retirement notice 🙂
That is awesome! Where are you located and we can try to set up some kind of meetup or event!
Amazing! What an amazing opportunity and experience you have in front of you.
Have to say very impressive that you have fully committed to the project by cutting ties with your main job. With great risks come great rewards.
Hope to see you swing by. Best of luck and you are set for adventure of a lifetime
Thanks, Xray! Having FU money and living frugal as hell give me insane optionality. Really looking forward to the book tour and all the amazing people I’ll meet during the journey!
If you shoot me an email at cody [at] millennialmoney [dot] com we can definitely meet up when I’m in your area. Look forward to hearing from you!
Nice blog! I started a blog 6 months ago at 67 and am looking for blogs that I can learn from. This is certainly one. I know it is hard work and often frustrating.
Thank you for the kind words! It’s certainly a challenge but it’s worth every minute of it.
Congratulations. I am inspired by you. I would definitely love a copy of your book. Any change of stopping in Arkansas? We love books too.
Thank you! It’s not my book it’s actually written by Grant Sabatier. Unfortunately we won’t be stopping in Arkansas, but we hope to catch you at another location!
I see that you decided to leave your job in spite of Marla’s advice 🙂 Best of luck, I’m sure you will crush it!!
Regarding the book tour. Consider a stop in Raleigh NC. We have a large FI community presence. We have 145 members in a local FIRE group I started a couple of years ago. The local Choose FI group is also growing rapidly.
We also have 3 superb universities (UNC, Duke, NC State).
Let me know if this is something that would interest you and we can talk some more offline!
You are correct 🙂 I had to trust my gut and take the leap. We will actually be in Raleigh on March 10th, what’s your email? I’d love to coordinate an event/meetup!
Ah, I see Raleigh on the list now! Missed it the first time I read the list.
My email is contact(at)financeclever(dot)com
A meet would be awesome! I’ll post it on the local groups. Shoot me an email and we can work out the details
Sounds great! Sending an email now.
Congrats on the leap! I’m dreaming about the day I can support myself with my blog/side hustles 🙂 I’m in the Atlanta area if you’ve got a Meetup scheduled or something. I really like Grant’s blog and I’m sure he’s done a great job with the book!
Thanks man! We are currently in the process of coordinating our Atlanta meetup. I’ll definitely keep you in the loop. It would be fun to meet up!
Hi Cody-
I’ve heard Grant doing his book tour interviewing blitz (he was on nearly every podcast that I listen to, almost all at the same time). I love his message and look forward to reading the book. I live in the Boston area and am hoping to make it to your visit to our fair city. Have you found a venue yet? I have attended author events at Harvard bookstore, Brookline Booksmith, and Porter Square books. I’m sure there are other good venues, but those are the ones I’m most familiar with. I’m also a member of the local ChooseFI Facebook group, which organizes meetups once in a while. I’m sure the community will turn out for the reading, and if you’re interested in doing another event just reach out to me or to the ChooseFI Boston Facebook group directly. Excited to have you two coming to town and spreading the good word!
Hey Eric,
Thanks for reading and reaching out! We have only locked down a corporate venue and are still working on a bookstore/meetup venue. I’ll send you a direct email and hopefully we can figure something out!
Cody
